Should you let go of your dreams?

You have to let go of who you are in order to live the life the people you admire are living.

Letting go is letting go of the idea of what you know yourself to be capable of achieving.

And this assumption of what you can achieve is only based on the sum of your past accomplishments and failures.

I am a firm believer that if you’re given a desire, it’s because you are capable of achieving every single aspect of it.

In the Quran, it is said that God will never give you a desire that He won’t see you achieving. Otherwise, it would be a form of torture.

Okay, but 👀 why do we need to let go to achieve certain results in the first place?

Letting go is not about making yourself wrong for wanting what you want. It is allowing space for the Divine to also participate in what you are creating.

Letting go is remembering that we are not alone and the Universe is also co-creating with us.

Simply, when we are co-operating with people, we care about their opinions and allow them to participate in what we are working on.

Letting someone in requires letting certain things go. We cannot insist on doing everything by ourselves and making every single decision alone if we are to truly work with another.

It’s the same here.

When we ask for what we desire, we allow the Universe to dance with us, bringing together the cooperative components we could never assemble through hard work or planning alone.

Letting go does not mean our dreams won’t come true.

But letting go means letting ourselves be comfortable with the unknown and the unseen.

Letting go means holding the vision while allowing the Universe to play its part.

This may mean:

  • delays showing up
  • different pathways appearing than what we anticipated
  • new doors opening that we never considered before

If you have difficulty understanding why we need to let go, let’s start very simply.

1️⃣ We need to let go because to arrive somewhere different, we first have to leave where we are 🙂

2️⃣ Second, as we are the creators of our reality and what we believe shapes what we experience, we have to let go of what we believe to be true—if it’s not helping us. So that we can start believing something else.

You may ask: 👀 Do I really have to let go of what I believe to believe something else?

Well, if you are a skeptic, you can go in slowly.

Then you’ll start to observe your life reflecting back to you a little bit of the new and a little bit of the old. Until eventually, you realize that without fully emptying yourself from the old, you cannot expand your capacity to accommodate more of the new.

Without this, you’ll always have “good enough” experiences—and even if you seemingly upgrade your life, the old challenges will drag along.

This is what people describe as being stuck in life.

Or better, feeling frustrated all the time as life always feels like a challenge—even when, from the outside, it looks like they are manifesting things.

If you want to live a soul-led life, you have to do a lot of letting go.

Letting go of:

  • who you’ve been for all those years
  • the belief of what you can and cannot do
  • your mind’s version of truth

So that the depth of your soul can emerge and lead your life.

Another question may come up here:

👀 Is it wrong to have desires if we want to live a spiritually aligned life?

Well, maybe ideally we wouldn’t have any desires if the goal was to fully transcend the human experience.

But we are here now 🙂

And if the language of this realm—the 3D—is action, then we are here to:

  • want
  • choose
  • act and move toward outcomes

The quality of these actions may change as our consciousness evolves, but that doesn’t diminish the importance of taking actions.

Another important clarification:

Without an end result, a desire, a vision—life is not lived to its fullest.

If you are truly content just exploring life without any vision, that’s okay.

But if you are avoiding responsibility or afraid of failure, and it just feels more comfortable to stay in the “exploring” state rather than committing to something—then your cure is not more letting go.

It’s commitment.

It’s narrowing your focus.

It’s choosing a vision and standing behind it.

Sometimes life helps us adjust that vision through trial and error.

But holding a vision is the crucial part.

The rest is co-creation.

One more time, letting go is not losing control. It’s becoming available for a life your past could never predict.

Your Recipe 📃

1️⃣ Don’t be afraid to have big visions, desires, and wants. Be bold enough to want what you truly want.

2️⃣ Check whether what you want would also benefit other people. Not because it is wrong to want something just for yourself—but because what benefits others often gathers more momentum.

And even your personal expansion—like increasing your income or buying a bigger house—can expand what others believe is possible.

3️⃣ Keep the end result near and dear to your heart. Feel the feelings of that future as if it were already here.

But let go of the way it should happen—the way and timing your logical mind tells you based on past data.

4️⃣ Get so good at bringing up these feelings independent of anything changing in your reality.

This allows you to experience fullness and wholeness without depending on external circumstances—another way of letting go.

5️⃣ Expand your belief and expectations each time worry, doubt, or unworthiness creeps in—by staying committed to your vision while letting go of how it will come about.

6️⃣ Don’t worry too much about what specific actions you should take.

Flow with the guidance of the Universe.

The answers will come as:

  • ideas
  • insights
  • visions
  • dreams
  • people
  • opportunities

7️⃣ What you should worry about the least in this process is the action part, because as long as you stay connected to your end result, the actions become very clear.

And when they do—move.

Don’t let doubt, fear, or perfectionism hold you back from taking the actions that have made themselves clear to you. Try, fail, and adjust as quickly as possible.

They may not be perfect or final, but they are your doorway to the next level.

Because as we said, the language of this realm is action 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️
