The greatest skill you can acquire – Adjust your vibe ⚡️
And when your vibe is not where it should be pointing, you can’t reach your goals.
The antidote for comparison is to make your world smaller—not to turn a blind eye to what’s around you, but to intentionally stay in your own race.
Using competition to our advantage is one of the greatest skills we can acquire in today’s world.
Otherwise, you are drowning in an endless ocean, with everyone creating and producing in every corner.
Mind your own business. Be obsessed with your own progress rather than where the competition is going.
You can find success by only mastering your own game anyway. Without adding your magic touch to anything you create, you cannot have a competitive advantage in any game.
That’s my intuitive promise, but it is also backed by the author of the famous book The Millionaire Fastlane, MJ DeMarco.
“I learned fast that most business owners paid more attention to their competition than their own business. Instead of minding their own business, they had their noses on what everyone else was doing. This means you neglect your own product and become reactive instead of proactive. Are your eyes on your vehicle and the road ahead? Or are you rubbernecking at the cars all around you?
If you are following, you aren’t leading, and if you aren’t leading, you’re not innovating.
If company X does something and you react, you are reactive, not proactive.
If you forget about your competition, you’re forced to focus on your business, which is to innovate, create value, and win over the minds of your customers. And when you fill needs, and your army of customers grows, something suddenly happens: everyone follows you.
If you are going to take your eyes off the road and spy on your competitors, do so to find value opportunities.
Exploited weaknesses are where brands are born.
Differentiation is a defense against commoditization.”
How about your soul journey?
It’s also true if we’re comparing our soul journey to another.
It’s going to sound cheesy, but we all have a unique journey—as unique as our fingerprints.
And as Kurt Cobain says, trying to be someone else is a waste of who you are.
Using competition to our advantage is one of the greatest skills we can acquire in today’s world.
Looking at the competition can help us a great deal, yet it might also hinder us if we are not mindful.
I had great ideas, quotes to share, but couldn’t do it for a year just because my post style wasn’t as good as X, Y, Z. Can you believe that? All this knowledge, post ideas, and valuable quotes just waited in my Canva workspace for a year!
Don’t be like me!
Start, try, and adjust along the way. Don’t try to find your ultimate—just do your best for now.
Have you ever looked at the first-ever launch of a product or service from your favorite entrepreneur or creator?
The quality of what they produced was far, far away from who they are today. But thanks to all those embarrassing products and awkward moments—and because they endured those times—they are who they are today.
Pause & Ponder 📝
1️⃣ What’s holding you back from starting (not a grandiose start—just a small step is enough) from doing what you want to do? Don’t limit yourself to a business idea; it could be any kind of change you want to make for yourself.
2️⃣ How would you feel if you were doing what you wanted to do now? Feel that feeling for a moment and let it guide you. Catching an idea, a nudge, an intuition—a tiny pull pulling you toward somewhere different than where you are right now is enough.
3️⃣ What is my version of “doing it well”—without referencing anyone else?
4️⃣ Where in my life am I comparing instead of creating?
5️⃣ Where am I delaying action because I don’t feel “as good as” yet?
6️⃣ What would “minding my own business” actually look like in my daily routine?
Love ❤️❤️
